Key terms used throughout the Niftipay merchant guide.
Terms & Definitions
Rolling reserve
A percentage of card-native volume held for a fixed period (10% for 181 days) and released daily as it matures, to cover potential chargebacks.
Settlement
The transfer of confirmed funds to you, paid in EUR or USDT on a T+9 business-day cycle.
Payout
The card/fiat settlement cycle (T+9), with a 500 USDT minimum — distinct from a crypto withdrawal.
Withdrawal
Moving your own crypto balance off-platform to an external wallet. Minimum €300 per chain (XRP must keep ≥10 XRP in-wallet).
KYB
Know Your Business — verification of your company's legal identity, ownership, and documents.
KYC
Know Your Customer — verification of an individual's identity, such as your company directors.
AML
Anti-Money Laundering — the regulatory controls that KYB/KYC checks support.
UBO
Ultimate Beneficial Owner — any individual who owns 25% or more of the company.
Chargeback
A card payment reversal initiated by the cardholder's bank; forfeits the matching reserve.
Underpayment
When a customer sends less crypto than the invoice requires. Tolerance is 0% by default unless configured.
